Analysis of streaming platforms

Streaming platforms represent a vast area of analysis for data scientists. This project aims to explore and compare the catalogs of Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ by leveraging the available metadata (type of content, genre, duration, country, etc.) through Power BI dashboards.

❓ Problem

Which platform offers the greatest diversity of content?

• Which countries dominate production?

• What durations, genres, and classifications are the most widespread?

• How do the platforms position themselves in terms of youth content, films vs series, etc.?

🛠️ Implemented Solution

• 🔍 Extraction, enrichment, and cleaning of datasets

• 📊 Construction of a comprehensive Power BI dashboard, with:

  • Key indicators (number of titles, countries, genres, ratings)

  • Pie charts (type of content, duration)

  • Bar charts (production by country, rating)

  • Geographical heatmap via integrated Bing Maps

  • Multi-platform navigation (buttons for Netflix / Amazon / Disney / comparison)

  
  

1. Netflix Dashboard:

   • Distribution by type of content (film/series), duration, country, genres, rating

   • Visualisation of trends by year

2. Prime Video Dashboard:

   • Analysis of over 9600 titles

   • Focus on main genres: drama, comedy, action

   • Interactive map of producing countries

3. Disney+ Dashboard:

   • More concentrated data but very categorised (youth, animation)

   • Analysis of short titles and children's ratings

4. Comparative Dashboard:

   • Overall view of the three catalogs: total titles, genres, countries

   • Synthetic visualisation of editorial differences between platforms
